The Kortunov Global Affairs Debates 2021
The Kortunov Global Affairs Debates are only two weeks away. Again, the international Debates are going to be held by Creative Diplomacy (PICREADI – the Center for the Support and Development of Public Initiatives Creative Diplomacy), the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, Boston.
The Kortunov Global Affairs Debates are the annual project of Creative Diplomacy in association with the RIAC launched over a decade ago in memory of Dr. Sergei V. Kortunov, a Russian political scientist and national identity researcher. Since 2009, Creative Diplomacy and the RIAC have brought together prominent young experts and beginning researchers to conduct annual debates on urgent issues of the Russian foreign policy.
After its tenth anniversary, the project was promoted to the international level, gaining the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University as its partner in 2020.

This year, the international Debates are scheduled for September-October, and focus on the following topics:
Sept. 21st - Does the rise of China threaten the liberal international order?
Sept. 28th - Should rising economic inequality around the world be blamed for the rise of populism?
Oct. 5th - Has the COVID-19 pandemic ended the era of accelerated globalization?
Registration of speakers on the first topic opens on September, 13th. Follow our updates!
