In March 2019, Creative Diplomacy will hold its flagship public diplomacy program for young leaders, Meeting Russia for the third time. Beyond our own program there are many opportunities to visit Russia as an expert and take part in seminars, models, and conferences organized by other organizations. We want to share with you a list of upcoming events in the field of international politics that will take place in 2019. International School on Global Security (by PIR Center)

Dates: April 6-14, 2019

This course provides an extensive overview of key developments and trends in international security given by their direct participants, and will walk the students through the twists and turns of new challenges and threats, as well as examine specific approaches and positions taken by Russia, other countries and international organizations to regional and global problems.

Churkin Moscow International Model UN

Dates: April 14-29, 2019

University and high school students gather for five days working in a well-organized simulation of UN structure and procedure. The participants of the Model United Nations (MUN) include delegates, chairs, observers, and experts. All participants assume the role of official representatives of the UN members and international organizations, which have gathered at the UN Headquarters to discuss issues on the agenda of the respective committees.

Among various Models UNs conducted in the world the Moscow International Model United Nations (MIMUN) is widely considered to be one of the best and most important of the kind.
"The Changing West and its role in global regulation" (by IMEMO, Institute of Europe and Institute for US and Canadian Studies of Russian Academy of Sciences)

This conference's format is a moderated discussion based on the abstracts of reports, prepared by the participants. The discussion will cover topical issues concerning following key challenges and possibilities for the development of the global economic and political system in the XXI century:

  • Evolution of the West as a collective political and economic player;
  • Current political and economic relations between the Western states;
  • Western influence on the non-Western world;
  • Transformation of the current world due to the Western influence.

"Global Challenges - 2019" (by the Russian Foreign Ministry Diplomatic Academy)

The Summer School 2019 at the Diplomatic Academy will provide students with a great opportunity to expand and develop skills in different fields of International Relations and World Politics as it will offer a multi-disciplinary and inclusive approach to the study of complex political issues and challenges that are facing the world. The Summer School in Moscow "Global Challenges 2019" focuses on the global challenges, including the political, economic and security issues that shape and reconfigure the architecture of the international system. Its primary goals are to analyze and understand the policies and strategic framework of major global actors that shape geopolitics, economy and international development.

Eurasian Economic Youth Forum

Dates: April 16-18, 2019

This event is an international youth movement that provides a start-up platform for career and personal development in science, entrepreneurship and creative work. This International forum was created for the discussion of national and world economies and functions as a high-powered resource for realization of ideas and opportunities. In 2019, the forum will take place in Ekaterinburg and focus on relations between Russia, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

German-Russian Youth Forum of sister cities: Young Regional Ambassadors

Dates: May 12-18, 2019

This forum takes place in Tyumen and is an opportunity to foster youth dialogue and networking between representatives of partner cities in Germany and Russia. The organizers have prepared a rich program which includes excursions, workshops and discussions with experts in the field of media, politics, culture and economics from the two countries.

Russian-Chinese Summer School on International Affairs

Dates: Summer 2019

The international summer school based at the National Research University – Higher School of Economics is open not only for Russian and Chinese participants, but for everybody interested in the topic. Discussions usually concern a wide range of international affairs and world order issues.

BRICS International School (by RNC BRICS)

Dates: Summer 2019

BRICS International School is a unique scientific and educational program for training young specialists in the field of studying BRICS political, economic and humanitarian issues and specific areas where the five countries interact.

Participants of BRICS International School will be offered a specially prepared comprehensive course of lectures from the leading Russian and international experts on the issues related to BRICS countries cooperation, their position on the global arena, prospects of institutionalization of BRICS.

Russian-German Youth Forum (by National Council and Federal Council of German youth,

The Russian-German youth forum is held every year alternately in Russia and Germany. During several days of the event participants discuss important topics for the development of bilateral relations in the field of youth, share their experience of projects, ideas, contacts and form a plan for further joint cooperation.

Russian-German Youth Parliament (by National Council and Stiftung Deutsch-Russischer Jugendaustausch)

The project promotes civil dialogue and the emergence of new projects and forms of cooperation between members of parliament and partner organizations.

Russian-Polish Youth Forum (by National Council)

The main objective of the project is to promote the development of international youth cooperation, to intensify contacts between youth NGOs and young leaders from Russia and Poland, to maintain and strengthen friendship, cooperation and understanding between nations.

The Black Sea Youth Forum

Dates: TBA

The project promotes international youth cooperation, youth policy in the Black Sea region, tries to involve youth in the socio-economic development of the region and to uphold the principles of construction of the world, taking into account international experience.

Alfa Fellowship Program

Deadline for application is around November each year

The Alfa Fellowship Program is a distinguished international initiative that each year offers up to 18 accomplished young Americans, Britons, and Germans the opportunity to complete a high-level professional development program in Russia. Over the course of the program, fellows complete work placements at leading institutions, attend professional seminars, and receive intensive language training. The Fellowship provides a monthly stipend, accommodation, insurance, all program-related travel costs, language training in Russia, and private tutoring in the U.S., U.K., or Germany.
