Meeting Russia Reunion -
Day 1
On July 28, the first discussion panel within the framework of the Meeting Russia Reunion project started. During the first day, the program participants had meetings with Russian experts in the field of international relations and discussions with representatives of state authorities.
Among the speakers of the first day were Andrey Kortunov, Director General of RIAC, Sergey Utkin, a leading researcher at IMEMO RAS, and Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council.
The first day of the Meeting Russia Reunion began with a discussion about the new features of the system of international relations, entitled "A War of Worldviews as a Basis of the Cold War 2.0."

The invited experts were Eleonora Tafuro, Research Fellow - Russia, Caucasus, and Central Asia Centre, Institute for International Political Studies, and Sergey Utkin, Head of Strategic Assessment Section at the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO RAS). Andrey Kortunov from RIAC and Yulia Nikitina from MGIMO join the discussion in the online format.

During the second session of the Meeting Russia Reunion, Konstantin Kosachev, a Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council, held a lively discussion with foreign participants on Russia's current foreign policy.

All the discussions were conducted under Chatham House rules.
The first day of the Meeting Russia Reunion also included a business lunch with Mr. Aleksandr Smekalin, Acting Chairman of the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region, as well as a meeting with local experts about cultural cooperation of the regions. The participants had a productive conversation with Mr. Aleksandr Kostomarov, first deputy governor of the Ulyanovsk Region, head of the administration of the governor of the Ulyanovsk Region, and Ms. Tatyana Ivshina, executive director of the"Ulyanovsk - Capital of Culture" Foundation.
